Afghanistan IN CRISIS

Humanitarian Emergency in Afghanistan

Afghanistan continues to face a severe humanitarian crisis, marked by ongoing violence, widespread displacement, and deteriorating living conditions.

Escalation of Violence

The country has experienced persistent attacks across multiple provinces, leading to insecurity and instability. Reports indicate widespread human rights violations, including extrajudicial killings, arbitrary arrests, and cases of torture.

Civilian Impact

The civilian population bears the brunt of the conflict. Explosive remnants of war continue to cause casualties, with children making up the vast majority of victims. Women and children remain at high risk, with limited access to essential resources and services.

Displacement Crisis

Millions of people have been forced to flee their homes due to conflict and natural disasters, creating one of the largest internally displaced populations in the world. Many live in makeshift shelters without access to food, clean water, sanitation, or healthcare. Entire families struggle to survive under harsh conditions, with little hope of returning home.

Impact on Women and Children

Women and children make up the majority of the displaced population and are among the most vulnerable. Restrictions on education and employment opportunities for women have further deepened the crisis. Many families rely entirely on humanitarian aid to meet their basic needs, while thousands face hunger, inadequate shelter, and lack of medical care.

Urgent Need for Assistance

The humanitarian situation remains critical, with millions in desperate need of aid. Immediate action is required to provide food, medical care, and support for those most affected. Despite the challenges, efforts continue to offer education, protection, and a pathway to a more hopeful future for those caught in crisis.

HOW WORLD ORPHAN FOUNDATION IS MAKING A DIFFERENCE

World Orphan Foundation provides emergency food, water, and shelter (blankets & tents) to those in crisis.  Every day, hundreds of people have to flee their homes and live on the streets of Kabul after losing their homes to attacks.  They are adding to the 4.8 million total number of displaced people in Afghanistan.
